How YouTube Timestamp Generator handles account data, timestamp jobs, temporary video files, and billing information.
Last updated: 2026-09-04
What this policy covers
This policy explains how YouTube Timestamp Generator handles information when you create an account, submit a public YouTube link, upload an authorized local video, buy processing time, or contact support. It applies to the web application and its timestamp-generation workflow.
Information used to run the service
We process only the information needed to provide the product:
- Account data such as your name, email address, authentication session, and account preferences.
- Timestamp-job data such as source type, a public-link video identifier, duration, coverage, generated chapter drafts, validation state, and job errors.
- Authorized-upload metadata such as file name, media type, size, upload progress, and your acknowledgement that you have the right to process the file.
- Service and security data such as browser/device information, request logs, cookies, and feature events used to operate and protect the application.
- Billing records such as an order reference, subscription or credit entitlement, and payment status. Card credentials are handled by the configured payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
Video sources and retention
A public YouTube link is used to create and process a timestamp job; we do not claim ownership of that video. Local video uploads are available only after sign-in and rights acknowledgement. They are private, temporary processing files rather than durable media in your history. The lasting product record is the timestamp job and its chapter result; temporary local and provider files are removed after processing or queued for retryable cleanup. When a local file is transferred to Gemini Files API, Gemini states that it automatically deletes the provider file after 48 hours; our service also attempts earlier deletion after processing. Do not submit a video unless you have the necessary rights to process it.
How information is used
We use this information to authenticate users, create and run jobs, show job and validation status, provide copy and export actions, account for processing credits, complete purchases, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and maintain service security. We do not sell personal information or use uploaded media to advertise to you.
Service providers and disclosures
We use infrastructure, AI-processing, storage, authentication, analytics, and payment providers only as needed to operate the service. They may process data under their applicable terms and instructions. We may also disclose information where required by law or when necessary to protect users, the service, or the public from fraud, abuse, or security threats.
Your choices and requests
You can update account details through the product where available. For account access, deletion, or privacy requests, use the in-product support path described on the Contact page and include the account email and the nature of the request. We may need to verify account ownership before acting. Closing an account does not alter records we must retain for security, legal, or billing purposes.
Security and updates
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls and encrypted transport where supported. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We may revise this policy as the product changes; the updated date above indicates the latest version.
